Importer Exporter Code

The Import Export code registration is mandatory for any individual or business engaged in importing and exporting of goods. In the absence of an IEC one cannot import or export.

The IEC is a 10-digit code issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade. Once issued it has permanent validity throughout India.

There is no need for any filing related to the transaction of goods imported or exported while using this IEC Code.

The application for the IEC will have to be done by filing the Aayaat Niryaat Form 2A (ANF 2A) to the regional authority of the Director general of Foreign trade in whose regional jurisdiction the registered office of the business is situated.

Procedure for Import Export
code registration

Step 1

Once the application has been submitted, you will be getting the certificate in 3 business working days in the IEC portal

Step 2

Further the certificate will be received with all the verification in the Government Side mail will be sent to you.

Step 3

Step 3- PAN Number will be your IEC number after the registration process is done successfully.

Documents Required for IE Code

Application

The following are the documents required for making an IE Code application in India.

For Proprietorship:

Digital Photograph

Digital Photograph (3x3cms) of the Proprietor.

Pan Card

Copy of PAN card of the Proprietor.

ID Proof

Copy of Passport (first & last page)/Voter’s I-Card/ Driving Licence/UID (Aadhar card) (any one of these).

Documents

Sale deed in case business premise is self-owned; or Rental/Lease Agreement, in case office is rented/ leased; or latest electricity /telephone bill.

Bank Certificate

Bank Certificate as per ANF 2A(I)/ Cancelled Cheque bearing pre printed name of applicant and A/C No.

For Partnership Firm:

Digital Photograph

Digital Photograph (3x3cms) of the Managing Partner.

Pan Card

Copy of PAN card of the applicant entity.

ID Proof

Copy of Passport (first & last page)/Voter’s I-Card /UID (Aadhar Card) /Driving Licence/ PAN (any one of these) of the Managing Partner/Director signing the application.

Copy of Partnership deed

Copy of Partnership Deed.

Sale Deed

Sale deed in case business premise is self-owned; or Rental/Lease Agreement, in case office is rented/ leased; or latest electricity /telephone bill.

Bank Certificate

Bank Certificate as per ANF 2 A(I)/Cancelled Cheque bearing pre printed name of the company and A/C No.

For LLP or Private Limited Company or
Section 8 Company

Digital Photograph

Digital Photograph (3x3cms) of the Managing Partner.

Pan Card

Copy of PAN card of the applicant entity.

Certificate of Incorporation

Certificate of incorporation as issued by the RoC

Sale Deed

Sale deed in case business premise is self-owned; or Rental/Lease Agreement, in case office is rented/ leased; or latest electricity or telephone bill.

Bank Certificate

Bank Certificate as per ANF 2 A(I)/Cancelled Cheque bearing preprinted name of the company and A/C No.
